Knowing starring Nicolas Cage. from the latest news hairstyle, pictures and trailers at Empire Movies. — Knowing is set in a world in which Nicolas Cage is a lecturer, a highly intelligent man. As Henry Rollins and William Shatner once sang, I cant get behind that. The problem I have with Cage, that Ive always had with him, is that apart from a couple of decent performances (Leaving Las Vegas, Bringing Out The Dead) he always appears to play the same character: wide-eyed, drawling speech, terrible haircut (surely he has the worst collection of hairdos in modern cinema?) and seemingly devoid of emotion. The thought of him starring as a lecturer-cum-action hero just beggars belief, but this trailer for Knowing gives it a damn good try. And its a shame, because with someone like Will Smith in the role (the director is I Robots Alex Proyas, so they have history) I think I would be looking forward to this spooky sci-fi tale of apocalyptic visions and end-of-the-world predictions. The effects look the part and glimpses of the whisper people are genuinely creepy. When the emergency broadcast kicks in, complete with buzzing siren, you get a real sense that this could be 2009s darkest, broodiest film. But then Nic Cage blunders his way through relatively simple lines like “Dont let him watch the news,” and it all just falls down. Giving him …

Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel Have Split The most boring romance in the history of celebrity relationships has reportedly come to an end; according to sources in the US Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have split up. Apparently the couple called it a day around a month ago, before NY Fashion Week and soon afterwards Justin was seen “clearly on the hunt” in the city chatting up several different women.  Meanwhile Jessica is said to be in “severe denial” about the break-up. A close friend of the actresses said: “There’s no way of knowing if it’s a firm break up, because with them it’s so hot and cold” And in another bizarre twist, Justin is now said to be pursuing a relationship with fellow singer Rihanna. Well that’s a turn up for the books, isn’t it? During last night’s MTV VMA’s Kanye West stormed on stage while Taylor Swift was accepting her award for the Best Female Video There’s always one isn’t there?! Everybody wanna boooo me but I’m a fan of real pop culture!!! I’m still happy for Taylor!!!!. I’m not crazy yall, I’m just real. Sorry for that!!! I feel really bad for Taylor and I’m sincerely sorry!!!” Hmmm, too little, too late and too unapologetic we think, what say you? Patrick Swayze 1952- 2009 It’s been confirmed that Patrick Swayze passed away at his home in Los Angeles last night following a 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer.  Tributes for the Dirty Dancing star have been flooding in since the news broke and during last nights Toronto Film Festival Patrick’s friend and co-star Rob Lowe said: “Patrick lived a thousand lifetimes in one lifetime. He was an expert dancer, he wrote hit songs, he starred in hit movies, he was an amazing horseman. But the thing I will remember him most for was his amazing love affair with his wife Lisa.” Meanwhile fans of the tragic actor have already started laying flowers on his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
