Celebrities As Role Models For Your Children

There has been much concern that has developed in recent years about the effect that seeing so many celebrities up close and personal might be having on our children.

So many times famous people like movies stars, music stars, and sports stars live lives that can seem so glamorous and trouble free to our kids. We seem to think that all they see are the advantages that they have.

While it is true that with so much celebrity exposure, this could be a factor in leading children in one direction or another. With television and all that is available to view, children can often be exposed to some things that they should not be. Many channels that we can have access to with satellite and cable, can have content that is inappropriate for some.

Some music and concerts that have adult lyrics can make kids feel more grown up when they sing them. The skimpy clothing that is being worn by young female celebrities and pop stars have little girls as young as five or six wanting to imitate their style. While there is nothing one can say about what other people wear, it is ultimately parents who buy the clothes our kids wear.

Young boys that see their favorite sports star wearing designer clothes and two hundred dollar pairs of tennis shoes may not fully understand that their parents might not be able to afford these things. Many young people have resorted to stealing and worse to get these items.

In recent months especially, there have been incidents where some of the celebrities that our kids love to imitate, have gotten into some serious trouble. In many of these cases these celebrities are paying the price for their actions.

Although it is a sad thing about what many of these young and famous are going through, it is at least good that our children also get to see that there are rules to abide by and sometimes it does not matter who you are.

In being fair to celebrities, there are many who pride themselves on trying to be better role models for their young audiences. As parents we must realize that how our children turn out in life is in large due to how they are raised at home and the time and effort that we put into them.

So if our children end up in trouble of some kind or are heading down the wrong path, it is not fair to place the blame on some celebrity we do not even know. After all, we are the ones who are responsible for our kids, not celebrities and how they live their lives.

Are Celebrities Happy?

Before we ask the question – are celebrities happy, let us first find out what is happiness? If you feel good for an hour every day, and horrible for the rest of the day, are you happy? What if you are happy for eight hours a day and feel down for the remaining sixteen hours, are you a happy person? For most of us, happiness is a state that is not permanent. We are not happy throughout the day. At least majority of us are not.

What is happiness? Happiness means a sense of deep contentment. A cheerful outlook. An attitude of positive thoughts. A person who has these qualities is happy during all the times of the day.

How about celebrities then? They have name, fame and wealth. They can, not only buy whatever they desire, but they can also buy a loved one. They can buy anything. Their name is splashed around in the media most of the times. Every news about them is awaited by the general population. Celebrities may not have been born with a silver spoon in the mouth, but the current spoon is mostly that of gold. So they must be happy! Do not we think so.

But sadly, happiness is away from most of the celebrities. Speaking of contentment, most of them are not only not feeling any contentment, but are frustrated. Their every movement is captured by the media. They are always in the public eye. So they try to hide. They are jealous at times of the common man. And they have no deep sense of peace in them. Rather their life and minds are full of turbulence most of the times. They are at times so dissatisfied with their own life that they wish to run away from themselves. This they cannot do, and therefore substances that take them away from their own realities are often used by them.

Happiness has something to do with money, but only to an extent. Happiness has nothing to do with fame, if you are not satisfied with yourself. Whatever the world may say, unless one has self-esteem, one can never be happy. All of us sail in the same boat. Most of us are living unhappy lives most of the time. Let us get happiness that will give us a satisfied sense of living. Let us strive for happiness in our own inner world.

Celebrities and their Sunglasses

Every celebrity out there knows the real value of a pair of designer sunglasses. Whether it’s to hide the effects of a late night out on the town or an effort to blend in on the street, a pair of quality sunglasses is absolutely indispensable. We’ve seen a lot of trends come and go, but a great pair of sunglasses will always transcend the passing fads of the day.

With the summer just around the corner, we have begun our fashion trend spotting efforts for 2006. Like years passed, celebrities are on the forefront of eyewear fashion. One of my favorite pastimes is to monitor the fashion trends of my favorite celebrities. As with last season, big sunglasses are all the rage for the ladies. God bless you, Jackie O!

Carmen Electra is one of my favorite celebrities, and one of the most stylish women in entertainment. While I could do without another season of her dreadful “reality” television show, I am dying to get my hands on a pair of the Missoni shades she was recently spotted in. They are oversized and oh-so-glamorous!

Catherine Zeta-Jones may have a thing for old, outdated actors but her fashion sense is as fresh as a spring breeze. I recently saw her sporting a pair of Dolce & Gabbana glasses that were out of this world! I suspect they were the utterly amazing “4005″ model. They were black, with the D&G logo designed into the arms of the glasses. The shades are big, bold, and beautiful!

Heidi Klum, our favorite supermodel and partygirl, has incredible fashion sense. I saw a picture of her earlier this week wearing a classic pair of Aviator shades. While a number of people in the fashion industry have been lamenting the prevalence of Aviator shades, I couldn’t imagine a world without them. Heidi was wearing a pair made by Ray Ban, and they were absolutely fabulous!

Speaking of partygirls, how could I go on without mentioning Paris Hilton? I adore Paris. She may not be taken seriously as an actress or singer, but she reigns supreme over the fashion world. She was recently spotted wearing a pair of the new Oakley glasses for women. That’s right, kids. Oakley just launched a new line of shades exclusively for women, and they are the must-have item for this fashion year. Believe the Hype!

Nick Albert is obsessed with celebrity fashion trends, with a particular fondness for designer sunglasses. When he is not busy reading the latest celebrity gossip rag, he writes for topsellingsunglasses.com – a stellar site with extensive information about designer sunglasses from Armani, Gucci, Ray Ban and more.

Make-Up Secrets The Celebrities Know And Use

You may be thinking to yourself that in order to have the same glow and perfect complexion the celebrities flaunt, you will need to employee one of Hollywood’s top make-up artists. Not so! Some of the tricks that the make-up artist use are very simple and easy to recreate on an affordable budget. Here are some tips discussed in Glamour magazine that you can use to create the perfect make-up by yourself and in the comfort of your own home.

• For a clean fresh look. Consider opting for shades of pink. This works will all skin tones and adds a very sophisticated look. For eyeshadow, go with a sheer product. Don’t go too harsh with the lipstick, a lighter shade will work best. For blush, a rosy color works best with this look. A light tinted moisturizer will provide a flawless canvas in which to build your fresh look without being too “make-upy” looking.

• For a sheer radiant look. This is such a popular look for the summer but can also really add some pop in the winter months when sun exposure is limited. The key to achieving this look is bronzer. It helps to create a foundation for the bronzer to sit by using a moisturizer first. If you need to even out your skin tone, consider a tinted moisturizer. Apply the powder bronze to the temples, cheeks, jawline, and the bridge of the nose. Make sure the bronzer suits your skin tone and blend well. To finish off the look you can simply apply mascara and a coral lip gloss.

• For the dressy upscale look. This look can be used anytime but is often most appropriate for nighttime. Go with neutrals on the eyes, lips, and cheeks using shimmery products. For a more dramatic finish apply fake lashes and a bit of bold black eyeliner. If you want to let the eyes radiate, just go with a nude lipstick. For more punch, consider a red lipstick.

The most important thing to remember is that practice makes perfect. You can easily get these looks but sometimes you’ll need to tweak each tip to work best for your skin tone, hair color, and skin type. There is nothing worse then a dramatic foundation line along your jaw, or overdone blue eyeshadow that screams 1980!
