Orange Celebrity Blog Round-Up 15 March 2010

As if the confirmation of Ashley and Cheryl Cole‘s painful break-up weren’t enough to keep us in the Land of the Gutted for the whole of 2010, it’s been adultery this and split that right across the globe.

First comes the news that after Take That‘s Mark Owen sensationally curtailed a tabloid exposé of monstrous proportions by admitting to bedding 10 (ten!) random women – while going out with his kind, understanding etc girlfriend-now-wife-but-only-by-the-skin-of-his-teeth Emma – she turfed him out of the family home. Until further notice, he’s kipping on an inflatable bed at a mate’s place, and quite right too, the philandering goon.

And then we find out that, of all the seemingly rock-solid unions we could pick from the firmament of celebrity, Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes have called time on their marriage after a mere seven years together. Itchy much, folks? It’s enough to make Marilyn Monroe tut, and she’s been worm food for decades. This isn’t the first time Kate has filed for divorce, remember her first husband Jim Threapleton who she met on the set of Hideous Kinky. I guess it shows that you can’t always work and live together.

Talking of splits… (wait for it) there was no sign of any split ends (there it is!) when Jennifer Aniston showed up on David Letterman‘s chat show to talk about her new movie The Bounty Hunter and, er, her barnet. In fact, her newly tousled locks were the responsibility of her snipper chum Chris McMillan, who Jen thoughtfully brought onto the show with her. Why? Oh, who knows what’s going on in her pretty wee head..?

Orange Celebrity Blog Round-Up 18 March 2010

It’s long been asserted that if there’s an aeroplane in the sky, it’s probably got a female celebrity on it – and she’s probably somehow looking approximately 157 times less hassled than everyone else on the flight.

Take Victoria Beckham, for example. The pop/fashion/whoknowswhat fembot hopped off a plane in Finland to visit injured footballing hubby David, and somehow looked like she’d not only never once set foot in an artificially pressurised flying tube of second-hand air and screaming children, but that even if the plane had landed on the North Sea, she’d have calmly walked to the shore without even staining her Louboutins with salt water. It’s just not bloody fair.

Meanwhile in London, frequent jetsetters (and similarly perennially unruffled travellers) Kate Moss and Stella McCartney busied themselves with a cute parade of children and animals at the launch of the latter’s new Gap Kids range. Kate did her bit with the kids and fluffy bunnies, but it was Stella who proved the real hit – possibly because she apparently brought a drum kit along. Stella’s new mini-me collection is too cute. Our vote definitely oes to the prowling leopard t-shirt for boys – just the thing to make the other yummy mummies jealous at the next play date.

Somebody most definitely not in London is Sandra Bullock, who’s followed her surprise Oscar nod with an award-winning display of Acting Rather Coyly. Having originally been slated to wow the crowds in a posh frock (presumably) at the UK premiere of The Blind Side, she’s now pulled out due to “unforeseen personal reasons”. Rumour has it those “reasons” may or may not involve a philandering husband and an ungracious kiss-and-tell interview Stateside (we’ve heard the words “tattoo model” bandied abou), but of course we couldn’t possibly comment on such scandal.

Reality TV Shows– Orange Celebrity news

Celebrity news is all around us.

X Factorirritants Jedward have apparently been asked by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals – Peta to you and I – to pose in the buff for a new ad campaign. “They didn’t think twice,” the inevitable unnamed source told the Daily Mirror. Pass me that spoon, I’ve got some eyes need a-gouging.

Anyone remember Makosi? The Big Brother 6 “star” was out and about at a charity fundraiser for Zimbabwe, wearing a retina-searing shocking pink frock. She was joined by Noisettes singer Shingai Shoniwa, and Sabrina Washington, the one out of Mis-Teeq who was on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! – well, one reality TV star out of two ain’t bad.

And so we inevitably come to the current and probably eternal Queen of Reality, Mrs/Miss/Ms Cheryl Cole/Tweedy/Kerl. It will comes as a surprise to precisely nobody to discover that Chezza’s been voted the best-dressed female celebrity by Glamour magazine. Popstars – The Rivals made her, The X Factor cemented her ubiquity, and now a fash mag thinks she scrubs up alright – she must be so proud…

Katie Price – the anti-Cheryl, if you will – has of course had her own frequent brushes with reality TV, but not even several ITV2 series could prepare her for the ear-bashing she got when taking a disabled parking space t’other day. Katie gave as good as she got, mind, shooting the objecting pensioner down with the simple fact that her son Harvey’s disability gives her free rein to park wherever the flip (our word, not hers) she likes. Nobody puts Katie in the corner (unless that’s where she wants to go).

Orange – Celebrity blog round-up 6 Oct 2009

London Fashion Week may be over but its dolled-up denizens hopped nimbly over La Manche to take the catwalk-based party to Paris. While Lindsay Lohan’s inaugural tilt at designing fell a little flat over the weekend, Monday’s Yves Saint Laurent show attracted such, um, diverse fash mag fixtures as Kate Moss and Claudia Schiffer. Oh, and Prince was there too.

Did you spot Madonna and Lady GaGa having a go at each other like a pair of green-eyed polecats on telly on Sunday? If not, that’s probably because they staged their spurious scrap in the US of A – and, oh alright then, the whole thing was actually a devastatingly chucklesome sketch on Saturday Night Live. There we were, thinking GaGa must’ve questioned Madge’s ongoing taste for the younger man, as disclosed to Ryan Seacrest …

Back in Blighty, the not-quite-so-glam Pride of Britain Awards brought together the great, the good and the slightly surprising in equal measure on Monday. Who’d have thought we’d see PM Gordon Brown in the same room as Dannii Minogue, Peter Andre and Celebrity Big Brother alumnus Verne Troyer? Of course, there’s every chance Verne was in the wrong place – BB10 winner Sophie Reade was havin’ it relatively large-ish in Ireland over the weekend after all.

At last, somebody’s captured Amanda Holden! After literally centuries (or thereabouts) running wild in Celebland, everyone’s favourite blank-faced Britain’s Got Talent button-monkey was finally caught in a giant coffee jar on Monday. What? It’s part of Kenco coffee’s new recycling drive? That means Holden’s still FREE! Noooooo…
