Celebrity Hair: How to Achieve the Most Popular Celebrity Hairstyles of All Time

Celebrity hairstyles have influenced us for thousands of years. Ever since Cleopatra first coined the idea that she could use her hairstyle to enhance her power and fame, women all over the world have mimicked the hairstyles and hair care rituals of the rich and famous in order to try and harness a little of that glory for themselves.

Here is an outline of how to use some of the best quality salon hair care products on the market to replicate and maintain the most popular celebrity hairstyles of recent times: ‘The Farrah’, ‘The Rachel’ and ‘The Pob’.

The Farrah

Farrah Fawcett’s flip was the predecessor of ‘The Rachel’ of the 1990s, spawning a zillion copycat hairstyles back in the 1970s. Both styles achieved enormous worldwide popularity, though the styles themselves couldn’t be more different. Many celebrities have put a modern spin on the Farrah flip, creating backwards-facing curls which are softer than the Charlie’s Angels star’s original, for a more chic and subdued look.

The initial hairstyle needs to be created in a salon for the best effect; here are some tips for hair care options to maintain The Farrah. Apply a texturizing lotion to wet hair for texture and volume and blow dry the hair upside down from side to side. Use a paddle brush to increase volume and smooth the hair.

The Rachel

The popularity of US TV show ‘Friends’ in the 90s was evident, not just from the mountain of column inches and video sales, but also from the sudden craze for a particular hairstyle. Jennifer Aniston’s character, Rachel Green, had a haircut in season one and two of the show which became so popular that it was named after her and replicated in hair salons all over the world.

’The Rachel’, also known as ‘The Rachel Shag’ and ‘The Rachel Haircut’, is a bouncy, square layered hairstyle which can be created initially in the salon and maintained with regular hair straightening. Volume can be added successfully using a volumising product by a top hair care brand and a salon quality shine serum will complete this glossy look.

The Pob

Victoria Beckham may have started out as Posh Spice, the slightly moody one in the Spice Girls, but ever since she started associating with football legend David Beckham, the world has been transfixed by her fashion and style choices, and she remains one of the most influential forces in fashion. The famous asymmetric bob hairstyle, the ‘Pob’, also known as the ‘Posh bob’, was popularised by Victoria in 2006 and has led to a surge in short haircuts for women all over the world ever since.

Again, the initial ‘Pob’ cut is best achieved at a salon but there are plenty of hair care products which will help make the most of a Pob. Firstly, use a texturising shampoo and conditioner and dry with anti-frizz balm by a salon hair care brand. When dry, add a volumising mousse and use wax to spike and separate longer strands.

ShopRush stocks all your favourite brands of professional hair care products and styling items, like tigi bedhead and Kerastase, to bring you all the tools you need, at fantastic prices.

How do celebrities always have such great hair? Well, they weren’t born with it.

Fusion Fashion for Temple of Time

The third & final & the most breathtaking collection were that of drapes. Exquisite bridal-wear saris with floral motifs and petals as if are marking the onset of the mellow spring season. What was your inspiration for such a lovely collection? “For the first one it was the care a damn kind of Indian girl that exudes power to me. The second personifies the character of the modern Indian woman who has adapted to the western lifestyle, yet is deeply rooted to Indian culture and ethos. The drapes are solely inspired from the cuts and silhouettes of the 16th century Indian empresses, they are my attempt to make a bride’s dream come true”, elaborates Archana tirelessly. At the end of it all, Archana had not one but two show stoppers- Geeta wearing a black deep back blouse under a sliver embellished sari and Mahima Choudhry sporting a short black dress and a Georgio Armani Prive.

Armani`s Prive collection at Paris used Rajasthan chic but eschewed the region`s traditional bright hues, models instead emerging on the catwalk in slate, cream, and pearl grey. Skirt suits, cocktail dresses, and evening gowns were restrained, their tapered lines embellished with Taj Mahal-meets-Art Deco jewels and minimal draping around cinched waists; coquettish turbans and berets evoked a feel of 1930s glamor.

Maharaja-style tunics, with folded peplums, in pale gold and grey brocade were worn with skinny trousers, rouched at the ankle. Suits featured jackets embellished with a silver scimitar which formed one side of the lapel and ended in a be-jeweled handle protruding over one shoulder. The scimitar effect was also used on one-shoulder gowns. Though the showing was heavy on daywear, there were some red carpet ensembles, including a full-skirted cream organza gown with a fringed bodice and diamante trim. Elsewhere, Armani integrated elements of his Prive jewellery line, using semi-precious stones to form high collars on the jackets and to embellish the straps of column dresses.

The collection was showcased in of Modern Art, which had been transformed into a semi-circular theatre for 600 guests, and a black PVC catwalk snaked past the guests. Leading the Red Carpet contingent were Oscar-nominee Cate Blanchett (in an Armani trouser suit), Lady Helen Taylor (in a plunging L.B.D., also by Armani), and Katie Holmes (in a one-shouldered chiffon gown in pale tournmaline). Following the show, guests proceeded to dinner where mirrored tables were set amidst mirrored columns. The menu included an entre of creamed cauliflower with crabmeat and caviar, followed by risotto with truffles.

Time Wasters Anonymous: Celebrity News Makes Me Feel Dirty

I just got my fill of all the latest goings-on with the celebrity world. I went at it for almost 7 straight minutes, indulging my seedy side with all the news about anybody who is anyone famous. Why do I even care? I think I don’t.

Maybe I’m just bored. No, maybe I’m a sick voyeur. In either case, whenever I see all that tabloid stuff (which now appears in all the non-tabloids as well), it kinda’ makes me feel dirty. It’s pretty trashy fare. I’m just glad you and I aren’t the ones making that sort of news. Or…do we wish we were? Let’s not go there.

I’m not going to name names, but you know who all the hunks and starlets are I’m talking about. So many scandals and relationship faux pas that it makes your head spin. Then harsh reality sets in: what the heck am I doing?!

I want to not care one iota. But, there I am back again reading all this garbage about some person I have no personal investment in, and who has none in me. Couldn’t my time be better served in much more productive ways? Why yes, YES it could.

I love the Internet, even when it sucks me down paths I’d prefer not to go. I’ve got so many hopes and dreams tied up in the Web. I want to be a blazing entrepreneur, a comedy writer, and a disrespected video nut (well, I already am, and I can’t seem to stop making some of the dumbest vid’s out there. But, it is too much fun). Oh, and by the way, do not ever give a man a video camera for a gift. You’ll very rarely see him again.

I think the truth is that I am a shameless self-promoting maniac. However, I believe that is what you must risk becoming if you’re ever to make a name for yourself. And maybe I’m just deluding myself. You can still become a raving success without anyone really knowing who you are. I guess my shameless style is just who I am. So, I have to accept that and move forward.

I’m constantly working toward achieving my every goal. And, I don’t appear to have it in me to ever quit. And as we all know, the journey always seems to trump the destination. And, it’s a fine fun journey I’m on, if I do say so myself.

Enough about me. Way more than enough. Except that if I can take this journey, so can you, my friend. The hills are alive with the sound of…endless opportunity. So, get out there and make it happen. All you have to do is determine what “it” is. And that you can do today.

Question by fire_pixie17: First time at Regis Salon?
I’m going there to get my hair done later. I asked my hubby to trim it for me (bad idea) and he hacked it off to the shortest layer so now it’s all one length. I want to get some layers put in and some side-swept bangs (I think those look super cute). I’m also wanting to get it colored since mine is fading right now and maybe some highlights. How much would all this cost, do you think? I don’t mind paying for a little “damage control”.

Also, I don’t want it cut any shorter bc I have to put it up for work. Will they listen to me or just do whatever they think will look good? I really want to keep what little length I have left. I really like this hairstyle

http://www.totalhair.net/hair-styles/gallery-photos/Celebrity-Hairstyles-Women/Nicole-Ritchie/1810/hairstyles.html

If I bring in a picture will they try to get my hair to look close to what I like? I understand we all have different hair textures and what not but I think this is really cute and would like something close.

Answer by rheaRAPTURE
It really depends on who you get. Some stylists do what they think looks good.. But that’s true of any salon. When I go there I make sure to get a Master Stylist because they’ve had the most training. If you bring in a picture, I think that’s the safest way to make sure you get what you want. I do that, and it always seems to work out for me.

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by Guinea Bugger: POLL: It’s time to cut the crap……………………?
Here’s six Immense facts I’ve learned about life………………

#1.There’s no point in having friends, hardly ever, unless those friends are actual friends for most of your life at least, or it’s a really close friendship(otherwise it’s just a waste of social interaction). Having friends(or what you call friends)is not worth the time if you’re going to grow older and eventually be seperated from them and change your life. It’s a meaningless attempt in that matter.

#2.You live your life and grow up to be fake. Yes, everybody eventually learns this and many other facts. You grow up to be fake because you act confident to succeed(you do what the world asks to move up)and accomplish the battles(you put up what is demanded from the world to work for things that the world demands you have certain behavior for)
needed to qualify for a life, which is needed to have money and live. With out it you’re dead or disabled, or you’re anti-government or homeless.

#3.Technology and media run us all(well, not all of us, but….). No person would mean any thing with a new bit or megapixel compared to 450GB and the Blackberry Storm 2. Also, with out celebrity hairstyles, wouldn’t we have to think of our own hair styles for a change?

#4.Money. The essential to life. You have to strive to get it or you’re born with the easy options already. If you’re born with out it, you need to build power to get it. Nothing in this world works with
out power and control, dominance and pride.

#5.Glory. One must make some thing out of them self in order to pride themself in it. Is it really worth living 60 years to say I’m a doctor, PHd, I make money and I won’t stop loving myself because of it? No, you live loving yourself as nothing and can continue loving yourself as whatever CAREER
you choose in life. If it’s not that way then you only love yourself for what you do, not what you are or were.

#6.Politics. You either follow them or you don’t. Following them is, some say, a way to learn about
your country, its people, the way it works, the gift to vote as an American. To me it sounds like bait.
With out any voters we wouldn’t have any scammers or people profiting to others for others’ benefits,
or selling our names out and thinking we’re doing good by trying to build some one else up for us.

Never works with me.

Did any body else know these derrogatory facts?
